Summer’s a Cool Pink
Hot days call for refreshments, but are you tired of the same old lemonade recipes? Don’t worry. I got you covered in cool. This is one of the loveliest drinks I’ve ever made myself and so here it is for you!
The benefits of rose and hibiscus flowers
Both rose and hibiscus flower are high in antioxidants, especially polyphenols and anthocyanins, which have been shown to protect cells from degeneration and cancer, lower rates of inflammation, and help with immune and cardiovascular health. They have a calming and analgesic effect, useful for things like menstrual pain, headaches, fever or even a broken heart.
Rose has naturally cooling and astringent properties properties that make it ideal for hot summer weather and inflammation. It is also used energetically to soothe the heart in plant medicine.
Hibiscus is a natural source of vitamin C and iron, and has also been shown to be good for the heart. It is a natural diuretic (ae. it makes you pee), so make sure you use the bathroom prior to entering the pool… but never mind that….
Enjoy your new pink drink and stay cool, jellybean!
